The Upper East Regional Minister, Hon Albert Abongo on August 31, 2016 received two (2) new buses on behalf of the region from the Regional Deputy Manager of the Metro Mass Transport (MMT) Company, Mr Salifu Fuseini. . The Minister advised management to properly maintain the vehicles and educate their drivers well on road safety.
In response, the Deputy Manager assured assured of the regular maintenance and inspection of the vehicles to ensure their longevity and safety. He added that this was the first time new MMT buses were given to the region since earlier buses were slightly used.
Present at the short ceremony was the Deputy Regional Minister, Hon Dr Robert Kuganaab-Lem and the Acting Chief Director of the Regional Coordinating Council, Alhaji Abdulai Abubakar and other staff.
The new Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) of the Ghana Armed Forces, Major General Obed Boamah Akwa paid a courtesy call on the Upper East Regional Minister on August 9, 2016 to introduce himself and get first hand information about the operations of the military in the region.
